AI in marketing is real, and most of how it's being used is wrong
Two things are simultaneously true about AI in marketing. First, the underlying capability is genuinely transformative, large language models can research, draft, summarise, classify, translate, personalise and automate at a quality and speed that was impossible two years ago. Second, the dominant pattern of use right now, 'generate 50 blog posts a month and publish them', is producing exactly the thin, generic, undifferentiated content that destroys domain authority and lands brands on the wrong side of Google's helpful-content classifier.
The opportunity is to use AI as a force multiplier for experienced marketing operators, not as a replacement for them. The same technology that produces SEO sludge in the wrong hands can, in the right hands, do research a strategist would take days on in minutes, draft variations of a positioning page at a fraction of the cost, run customer-conversation analysis across thousands of tickets, summarise competitor positioning in hours, personalise outreach at scale, and operate workflows that previously needed three coordinators.
Uddhavo designs AI marketing systems for clients who want the leverage without the brand and SEO downside. We also help brands prepare for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), being the source ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity cite when buyers ask AI tools the questions you used to rank for on Google.
